In June 2006 photographer Ed Gold planned to spend one month in Gaiman, Patagonia to photograph, record and collate as much information as he could about the descendants of
the original community of Welsh nationalists who had sailed from the UK in 1865. He eventually stayed in Gaiman for three years. Welsh Patagonia contains his 63,000 word journal written during that first month in Gaiman, and six (of over 3,000) photographs taken by Gold.
